Elisha Parkinson wins Student Nursing Times Award

Elisha Parkinson winning Student Nursing Times Award

Inspired to join the health field during the pandemic, Elisha started her training as a Nursing Associate in 2022 after several years as a Recovery Support Worker in the Trust. She has since become an essential member of the Carshalton and Wallington Integrated Recovery Hub, bringing her positivity and dedication to the team. Elisha was nominated by Kingston University and her colleagues for her remarkable contributions to the team.

Rumbi Mapfumo, Experience and Governance Lead, said: “Elisha is hard working, creative, approachable and an intelligent colleague. She is highly organised, highly motivated, and an integral support and advocate for patients’ recovery. She is an exceptional talent who will be extremely successful in the future in whichever role she pursues.”

Hannah Davies, Clinical Associate Psychologist, said: "Elisha is an integral part of the Integrated Recovery Hub. I have seen her transition from her role as a recovery support worker to trainee nursing associate and the incredible impact it has had on the team. She ensures that we all understand the importance of both physical and mental health.”

Elisha attended the 2024 awards ceremony on 26th April in London, where she was one of 24 winners.

Upon receiving her award, Elisha said: “I’m still in disbelief but so pleased to have won this award - I was surrounded by such incredible people within my category, and I didn’t really believe I would be chosen. However I feel lucky to work with a team and a Trust so strongly development focused, it’s allowed me to grow and explore my place in the mental health world as a nursing associate.”

“My favourite part of being a Nursing Associate is watching a service user become independent and empowered to improve their physical health. Watching their confidence grow with your support and their realisation that they can make lifestyle changes and won’t always need your support is so special.”

Congratulation Elisha!
