Community services
Our services offers a range of assessments and treatments for children and young people with mental health issues which impact significantly on day to day life.
We have community services in five locations across south west London. They provide assessment and treatment for a range of common problems. There is one in each of the five boroughs covered by the Trust
Sutton
In Sutton we are part of the Sutton Alliance which includes NHS services and local organisations such as Jumpstart, a youth counselling service.
We offer a number of effective therapies based on the young person's needs and as agreed with the family through care planning.
Services offered include:
- Assessment of moderate to severe mental health problems
- Safety planning
- Psycho-education and support to the family
- Cognitive behaviour therapy
- Brief/interpersonal therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Family therapy
- Medication
- Parent work around the child's needs
The treatment options will be fully explained and discussed before you start treatment. We also provide advice, consultation and support to schools and other organisations that work with young people.
Merton
We offer a number of effective therapies based on the young person's needs and as agreed with the family through care planning.

Wandsworth

Kingston

Richmond
We offer a number of effective therapies based on the young person's needs and as agreed with the family through care planning.
Services offered include:

- Cognitive behaviour therapy
- Brief/interpersonal therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Family therapy

- Parent work around the child's needs
- Consultations and network meetings with other professionals
There are also four specialist community teams, which cover all the boroughs and one specialist community team, which works in Wandsworth only.

Eating Disorder service
The service has strong links with local children's services at St George's Hospital. Local teams manage eating problems that are secondary or related to other disorders, such as depression.
Multisystemic therapy service (MST)
The team is integrated within CAMHS despite having a different referral criteria as described below:
- Young people at risk of entering care or custody
- Young people at risk of entering residential school
- Young people who are offending or who are at risk of offending / ‘On Community Orders’:
- Young people who are physically aggressive at home, at school or in the community, and/or are at risk of school exclusion / antisocial behaviour
- Young people at risk of absconding or are vulnerable to sexual exploitation
- Substance abuse in the context of other behavioural difficulties listed above
- Verbal aggression, verbal threats or harm to others
Emergency care service
The CECS also provide urgent 7 day follow ups for young people who are registered with a GP in one of the Trust's five boroughs and who have been seen at local and non-local hospitals.
