Estate Modernisation Procurement

Keep up-to-date with the latest procurement information on the Estate Modernisation Programme and download all the key documents.

The Trust recently selected the preferred bidder to work alongside to progress the Estate Modernisation Programme.

Selection of a development partner

We are pleased to confirm that the Trust has now completed the final stage of the 15 month procurement process for its once in a lifetime multi-million programme to build two new state-of-the-art mental health hospitals at Springfield University Hospital and Tolworth Hospital.

The Trust has appointed the Springfield and Tolworth Estate Partnership (STEP), a 50/50 partnership between Kajima Partnerships and Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures as Preferred Bidder/Master Developer and we are now in the process of obtaining central Government approval for the EMP to progress to the construction stage. Subject to all necessary approvals the Trust is aiming to begin construction on the new Springfield Hospital in Summer/Autumn 2019.

The Trust website will be updated notifying of the progress of this approvals process and when the contract is awarded.  Once the contract is awarded the Master Developer will be responsible for purchasing and developing all of the available land at Springfield plus the construction of the hospital at the Trust’s Tolworth site and will appoint their own sub-contractors and carry out the procurement through their own supply chain.

All interested parties are asked to contact the Preferred Bidder with regard to future opportunities at this email address:

Appointment of advisers

The Trust gained planning permission for the Estate Modernisation Programme in 2012. Since then the Trust has appointed key advisers, procured using our governance processes and as a result of competitive tender. These advisers have been appointed until the Financial close of the programme and as a result the Trust are not looking for any more advice or advisers to guide this programme.
