Recovery College kick starts 2018 by welcoming international visitors

2018 has been busy so far for our Recovery College, with two international visits coordinated by IMROC (Implementing Recovery through Organisational Change) looking at best practice in the UK.

37 BAME nursing staff cohorts complete Trust Burdett Leadership Training

In December, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust announced secured a large grant from the Burdett Trust for Nursing to devise a bespoke leadership development programme for its Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic (BAME) nursing workforce.

OCD Week of Action (19-25 February)

 

This week South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is again celebrating OCD Week of action (19-25 February), highlighting the importance of understanding obsessive compulsive disorder and challenging the stigma surrounding the disorder.

 

Valentines Day Row-A-Thon for NSPCC

On 14 February South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS  Trust (SWLSTG) service users and staff on Halswell Ward held a row-a-thon to help raise money for the NSPCC.

The idea camefrom a service user and helped promote physlcal activity for a healthy heart whilst also helping to raise money for charity.

CQC inspection

From 26 February - March 9 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be carrying out an inspection of the South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust services.

Quality Awards 2018 – Annual Awards Celebration of Mental Health in South West London

 

On Thursday 25 January SWLSTG staff and leaders came together for the annual Quality Awards, an event which celebrates our staff and the fantastic work they do on a daily basis.

There were 12 awards handed out at the event, including: Mental Health Advocate Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Chair’s Award and Chief Executive Leadership Award.

Deaf Staff break boundaries for mental health services

 

On 31 January, two inspiring Trust Deaf staff members will take part in an exhibition and presentation at the Royal College of Nursing which is being run by Healthy Deaf Minds.

SWLSTG shortlisted for award at the National Children and Young People’s Mental Health Positive Practice Awards

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is delighted to have been shortlisted for an award in this year’s National Children and Young People’s Mental Health Positive Practice Awards.

The Trust has been shortlisted in the Partnership Working/ Co-Production Category for the Debating Mental Health project, which ran November 16-April 17.
