South West London and St George’s celebrates Lotus Assessment Suite fifth anniversary

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is celebrating five years since the opening of its Lotus Assessment Suite at Springfield Hospital in Tooting. The award-winning service, which was the first of its kind in the UK, opened its doors in November 2016 to provide an alternative to A&E for adults who need emergency mental health care.

Labour MPs tour South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust

Wandsworth MPs, Fleur Anderson, Marsha de Cordova and Rosena Allin-Khan toured South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust last week, visiting the Trust’s deaf service and the construction site of its new mental health facilities.

Trust staff take to bricklaying to mark 12 months to completion of new mental health facilities

Last month NHS staff from South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust took part in a bricklaying event to celebrate 12 months to go until the opening of two new mental health facilities in South West London, that will be at the heart of a new ‘Springfield Village’. It comes ahead of a series of events happening across November to highlight progress on innovations and developments across the Trust.

South London Listens Action Plan

A community-led action plan to prevent a mental health crisis and to promote recovery launched today. 

South London Listens, a unique partnership between the NHS, local authorities, and community organisations today launched their action plan to respond to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the mental health and wellbeing of our communities.

Site access via Springfield Drive restored at Springfield University Hospital

Construction works have been taking place on sections of Springfield Drive  between Storey Building and Elizabeth Newton Building at Springfield University Hospital over the past year.

These roadworks have now been completed and pedestrian access through the site has been restored.

South London Listens shortlisted for CorpComms Award 2021

South London Listens has been shortlisted in the Best Community Initiative category at the CorpComms Awards 2021.

In response to Covid-19, the three mental health Trusts in south London (Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) and South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG)) mobilised quickly, with our CCGs and local authority partners, to determine how we could protect our communities’ mental health. We have made incredible progress to form a two-year programme of prevention and recovery which will be published this autumn.

Richmond MPs tour South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust

Following World Mental Health Day, Richmond MPs Sarah Olney and Munira Wilson visited South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) to tour its services and learn more about the progress made developing new facilities at Springfield University Hospital, which are set to open 12 months from now.
