Amy Reynolds has been named the next recipient of the Trust’s Exceptional People Award.
Recently joining the Trust in October 2021, Amy has already made a significant impact in her work as Activity Coordinator on one of the wards.
Amy is known by her colleagues for her creative skills and for always going above and beyond to support patients and colleagues holistically on the ward. She has been widely commended for her ability to create a feeling of togetherness through her work.
Nominated several times, her teammates said: “Amy organises events on the ward that manage to include a wide range of people, putting a great deal of effort into making sure they are accessible and enjoyable. Her positivity and enthusiasm help to encourage so many to join in with the fun and games.”
Upon learning that she had won the award, Amy said: “It’s such a lovely surprise to have been nominated. I feel very supported.
“My favourite thing about my role is being able to provide an open space where people can be creative or if they don’t feel like doing activities, to come and sit with the group and feel connected with others.
“I know that sometimes people value being able to have some time to themselves in a calm environment, so I make sure to also hold a relaxation group on the ward which can reach people who otherwise wouldn’t feel comfortable joining group activities. I love that I can help people to feel involved no matter their comfort level when it comes to participation.”
Amy will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for her valued service to the Trust and patients.
