August’s Exceptional People Award goes to Frederick Mills

August’s Exceptional People Award goes to Frederick Mills

Frederick Mills has been named as the next recipient of South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust’s Exceptional People Award, having been selected as the August 2022 winner.

Frederick, who is the Care Co-ordinator for the Forensic Outreach Service team, has been working at the Trust for nearly 3 years and has been described as caring, compassionate, hard-working, and extremely patient focused by his colleagues. His position at the Trust has seen him play a crucial role in the development of students over the past year, who were quick to praise his kind, supportive, and informative approach to mentoring.

The Forensic Outreach Service team wanted to highlight Frederick’s fantastic work, saying: “The family members of patients that Freddie care coordinates have commented on his ability to forge positive relationships and his calm approach, and praise his willingness to respect and listen to his patients.

“He is highly valued by the wider team and members of other departments, who regularly feedback on how supportive he is to all of his colleagues.”

As Care Co-ordinator, Frederick loves that his role gives him the ability to have honest conversations with his clients about their treatments, listen to them, and make them feel heard, a task that he finds very fulfilling.

Frederick was humbled to hear he had been selected as the August winner of the Exceptional People Award, saying: “For a colleague and the Trust to recognise the extent I - and for that matter, the Forensic Outreach Service Team - go to with our work is remarkable. I feel very much encouraged to continue to do what I do.”

Frederick will receive a certificate, a gift, and our thanks for his valued service to the Trust and patients.

Every month we recognise and reward a staff member that has made a real difference to the Trust, our people and our patients.
