As part of the re-development of the Springfield Hospital site there will be some changes to Car Park A (week commencing 20 January). If you are visiting the trust, please allow extra time to take these changes into account.
With approval of the Estate Modernisation Programme Full Business Case now confirmed, building work on the new fit-for-purpose mental health facilities has begun in earnest.
As part of the re-development the Trust has sold parts of its estate to help fund the new hospitals; part of the land sold is the area between Newton Building and Harewood, which used to house the old staff restaurant, which has been sold to Barratt for new housing. As a result hoarding boards will be erected next week (week commencing 20 January) around this area. Barratt will then commence building new homes within this area.
As a result of this work, car park A will close. However, the Trust will temporarily retain approximately eight car park spaces, close to the Gatehouse. Pedestrian access in this area will still be retained with existing paths allowing movement around the building.
We acknowledge that during this time noise levels will vary, and we are working with our contractors to minimise the impact that these works will have on the day-to-day work of the Trust.
We appreciate that these changes can be frustrating and we apologise for the inconvenience. We will share more information with staff, patients, carers and other interested parties as soon as it is available in order to minimise disruptions.
Disabled parking continues to be available at the rear of Harewood and we will shortly be re-opening the spaces directly outside Harewood CAMHS entrance.
