Springfield Hospital redevelopment site to recommence work in line with Government guidance on COVID-19

Springfield Hospital redevelopment site to recommence work in line with Government guidance on COVID-19

In line with latest guidance published on 31 March 2020 from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (Coronavirus (COVID-19): letter to the construction sector), construction works on the Springfield Hospital site will start again on 1 April 2020.

Since the decision was taken to pause works last week, our developer partner STEP have been monitoring official advice for construction sites. In line with this, the main contractor of the Springfield works, Sir Robert McAlpine, has carried out thorough health and safety checks and made all adjustments necessary to reopen the site in line with the latest guidance.

STEP are working to make sure they do not put anyone at increased risk of contracting COVID-19 and will be monitoring Government guidance on a continual basis.

We appreciate that these are difficult times and would like to thank all those involved with the development and the local community for their understanding at this challenging time.
