Exceptional People Award: Congratulations to our latest winner!

Exceptional People Award: Congratulations to our latest winner!

Congratulations to Assistant Psychologist Elena Bantoft who is our latest Exceptional People Award winner! Elena joined the Trust six months ago and works as part of the Kingston Older People Community Mental Health Team.

Elena was nominated for being ‘a warm and friendly team member who is not only very well liked but has gone above and beyond in demonstrating collaboration and consistency in working alongside her MDT colleagues. Elena has ‘almost entirely independently produced exceptional work.'

Asked what she most enjoys most about working here, Elena said: "This is my first role after my undergraduate and they have given me such brilliant guidance and experiences in the short time I have been here. We are a small but mighty team and every day I am inspired and motivated by what they do. I also love the clients that we serve, hearing about their lives and working with them towards recovery.

"My favourite thing about working at SWLStG is the care I’ve seen for the experience of service users and staff. Seeing the plans for the developments at Tolworth Hospital (where I am based) shows me that they endeavour for the best facilities for staff and service users. I’ve also enjoyed all the excellent training available, alongside the frequent updates from communications and our CEO Vanessa Ford (including her taking the time to visit us personally), and feel they again show me how the Trust cares about our development and cohesion."

Commenting on her award, Elena said: "I am completely shocked! It’s really nice to see that my team feel I have contributed well to the collective work that we do. I would not have integrated into the team so well if it had not been for my amazing manager, supervisor, and colleagues who welcomed me in with a smile and have made it really easy to learn about the service and develop as an Assistant Psychologist. I am very thankful to them for nominating me, and am grateful that the Trust runs this award to show gratitude for their staff members as it has certainly put a spring in my step!"

Well done Elena!
