Join consultations on the final stage of residential development at Springfield Village

The development of Springfield Village is continuing at pace at the Trust’s Springfield site, with new mental health facilities scheduled to open in the coming months.

These new buildings will provide high-quality inpatient services and sit at the heart of Springfield Village, a new mixed-used community, combining healthcare and residential neighbourhoods in a parkland setting.

Alongside Master Developer the Springfield and Tolworth Estates Partnership (STEP) the Trust has been working with the community, service users and key stakeholders since 2004 to transform the site and deliver modern inpatient facilities.

Excellent progress has been made to date on delivering the wider Springfield Village masterplan and the final stages of the Masterplan are now close to being finalised.

Delivering the final phase of Springfield Village

It has been over a decade since the outline masterplan for Springfield Village was approved, which established the principles of development. In recent years, detailed applications for each plot have been brought forward in line with modern planning policy and optimised the number of homes within the approved building height and massing.

As a result, the previously approved number of homes (839) have been delivered to date and plots X, Y and Z are surplus under the original planning permission. This provides the opportunity for these plots to be reviewed and for more new homes to delivered, in turn securing the funding necessary for the Trust to complete its transformation programme.

Barratt London has now been selected to review the previous plans for X, Y and Z and how these plots can be brought forward under a new planning application.

The Trust, STEP and all of our development partners are committed to working with our neighbours, businesses and the wider community to deliver a development with real and lasting benefits.

As part of this final stage of the Masterplan, consultation events will be held in October where we will share the plans with the community and ask for your feedback. The events are taking place on:
