Join our community engagement events on the redevelopment of Tolworth Hospital

The Trust is currently undertaking an ambitious programme of investment to improve our facilities across Wandsworth, Richmond and Kingston.

As part of this we have been working with our stakeholders and partners on the redevelopment of Tolworth Hospital in Kingston and are now ready to share revised plans with our community for their feedback. 

Developing Tolworth Hospital

New investment is planned to deliver up to date healthcare facilities at Tolworth to ensure patients and service users have the best environment in which to recover.

These facilities will improve the experience of everyone who uses, works or comes into contact with mental health services in South West London and will support our wider Trust mission to Make Life Better Together. 

This work is part of the Trust’s Integrated Programme which is delivering investment across our workforce, services and environments over the coming years.

Working with our master developer STEP (Springfield & Tolworth Estate Partnership) and main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, the first stage, at Springfield Hospital in Tooting, is well underway and we are now focused on Tolworth Hospital.

In 2018 we received approval from Kingston Council to redevelop the hospital and, since this time, we have taken on board lessons learned at Springfield for the proposed works at Tolworth. We are now taking the opportunity to revisit the plans, revise and improve them, to ensure we can provide the best possible facilities for our patients, staff and the community.

Before the revised plans are submitted to Kingston Council, we are holding a series of engagement events to showcase the emerging plans to the community and understand your views.

We are hosting two online webinars in March. This will be an opportunity to hear from the team. The meeting is expected to last 30 minutes, plus extra time for your questions.

The proposals will also be displayed along the hospital boundary fence on Red Lion Road from Monday 28 February until Sunday 13 March 2022 for residents to view at their convenience.

A copy of the boards being displayed on site will be available to download from this page on Monday 28 February.
