The British Medical Association (BMA) and the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association (HCSA), the trade unions for doctors in the UK, have announced that their members will be participating in strike action from 7am on Wednesday 14th June – 7am on Saturday 17th June. This will include some of the junior doctors who work in our Trust.
We expect that most services will continue throughout the junior doctors’ strike. However, some junior doctors’ clinics may be rescheduled.
Everyone who has an appointment should attend, unless we have contacted you to reschedule. If we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned.
The arrangements we have put in place to cover staff taking part in the industrial action may mean that your care is provided by someone different to who you would usually see.
Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that you continue to come forward for mental healthcare in the same way as usual. You can contact the mental health team that provides your care for help and support during office hours. Out of hours, please call our 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 028 8000 for urgent mental health support.
More information on the strikes is available from the NHS website.
