Site access changes at Springfield from April - August 2021

Site access changes at Springfield from April - August 2021

Construction has been taking place on sections of Springfield Drive between Storey Building and Elizabeth Newton Building at Springfield University Hospital.

This is due to continue as works move on to new sections of the road week commencing Monday 5 April 2021. Existing hoardings outside of Storey Building will be removed where works have been completed and a new section of the road will be closed and hoardings erected.

Works on this section of road are anticipated to be complete by August 2021 and further updates on site access will be provided in the run up as appropriate.

During this period (April-August), there will no longer be access to Storey Building via the Storey Building car park and access via the junction next to Phoenix to Storey’s main entrance, 136 Ward, Newton Building Entrance 7 and Harewood House will no longer be available to staff, ambulances, patients and service users and members of the public.

For pedestrians, access to all will instead be diverted through Elizabeth Newton Building, as is currently a temporary access route through the site. Ambulance access to Storey and 136 Ward will now come from the Glenburnie Road entrance via Harewood House.

As construction works progress on site, the Trust’s Estate Modernisation Programme (EMP) team continue to liaise with affected wards, staff, patients and service users and our community partners to help manage and minimise disruption wherever possible.
