As you may be aware, we have been working to deliver first class modern mental healthcare facilities on our Springfield site. The programme, named the Estate Modernisation Programme (EMP) will deliver new hospital buildings in a community and parkland setting.
The new hospital buildings are unique in that they have been informed by hundreds of meetings with service users, carers and clinicians and will revolutionise the way we deliver care.
Last year we were delighted to announce the selection of our master developer, STEP, to construct these exciting new facilities and we are pleased to inform you that early works have now started, with the new hospitals expected to be delivered by 2021/22, subject to Government approvals.
The developer and EMP team have been working hard to ensure disruption is minimised for patients. We would like to assure you that all Trust services will be continuing on site and our clinical teams are working to ensure they can still deliver the best care during the construction work.
However, due to the scale of the programme, you may notice a number of changes and we would encourage you to allow extra time when visiting the Springfield site. These include:
There may be times when access to parts of the site is restricted or the construction works impact water and electricity supplies on site. We have provided a table below that is updated each week with any changes that may impact services - we will be working closely with clinical teams to ensure impacts are mitigated for patients and carers.
If you have any concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the EMP hotline on 020 3513 6524.
Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience during the construction work.
