You may remember that in March 2020 the BBC aired, Stacey Dooley: On The Psych Ward which was highly successful and reached 3.1million viewers.
It is with great pleasure that we are now able to confirm that the second documentary in the series, Stacey Dooley: Back on the Psych Ward, will be broadcast on Tuesday 13 April at 9pm on BBC2.
Investigative journalist and documentary maker Stacey Dooley returned to the Trust to once again work with our dedicated mental health professionals, talking to staff and meeting patients in crisis as they battle mental health issues during the pandemic, as she finds out how they have been affected by the challenges of lockdown.
We are very proud of how our Trust is depicted in this documentary; while it is an honest portrayal of our organisation and the challenges we face, it depicts the great dedication, expertise and compassion our staff show every day.
Thank you to the service users, carers and staff who were filmed in this documentary, as well as those who supported behind the scenes, all of which made it possible for us to show how we work together to support 20,000 patients per year with mental health conditions.
All decisions regarding filming and patient participation were led by our clinicians, guided by an editorial board and an ethics committee; our patients’ welfare is our top priority and consent has been checked throughout filming up to broadcast given participants the option to withdraw consent at any time.
