Sunday 16 May: Road closure at Springfield

As part of the development of the Trust’s crisis pathway, construction deliveries and works will be taking place this Sunday (16 May 2021) at Springfield University Hospital.

To facilitate the delivery of new modular units, the hospital’s Glenburnie Road entrance will be closed to public traffic between 8am and 6pm as indicated in the image.

To support safety management onsite:

Public traffic access

  • Roadblocks will be in place for the duration
  • Public traffic access to the site will only be available via the Burntwood Lane entrance and there will be no vehicular through route across the site during this time.

Pedestrian access 

Ambulance access 

  • Ambulance access will continue to be available to Storey Building as usual via the Glenburnie Road entrance.
  • Ambulance access to the southern part of the site including the Orchid Unit will be via the Burntwood Lane entrance only.
  • There will also be no through route for ambulances across the site.
