SWLSTG Bluebell Ward receives accreditation from The Royal College of Psychiatrists

The Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Combined Committee for Accreditation met on 14^th February 2017 and made a decision to accredit Bluebell Ward.

The team has been working hard over the last year to fully meet all the quality standards required for this comprehensive accreditation process.  These standards are the best possible standards for this specialty.

Bluebell Ward provides assessment and treatment for deaf adults with mental illness and mental health problems. It is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team and both deaf and hearing staff are proficient in British Sign Language (BSL).

Accredited services are measured against a set of national quality standards to check that the right things are in place to encourage good quality care. The accreditation process looks for evidence that staff members are well trained, well supported and working within organised and safe systems.
