We do not have a clinical base. We will travel to young people or will see them in their local CAMHS clinic.

Adolescent Assertive Outreach Team

Who we are

The adolescent resource centre is a small community team, working across South West London, with the aim of helping young people to avoid an inpatient mental health by working more intensively with them in the community during a period of crisis in their mental health before transferring care back to their local CAMHS team.

Who is the service for

This service is for young people aged 12-18 years who are experiencing an acute crisis in their mental health and who might be at risk of needing an inpatient admission owing to the severity of their illness or risk.

Where to find us

Springfield University Hospital
1st Floor, Building 3
61 Glenburnie Road
SW17 7DJ

Telephone: 0203 513 6609

Our opening hours

Monday - Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm

Who you might see / our staff

We have 2 specialist nurses, 2 senior support workers, 2 Consultant Psychiatrists, a Clinical Psychologist and a DBT Practitioner.

A young person will have a key worker allocated and other staff will become involved according to the interventions needed.

What you can expect

We see young people at least once per week and this can be in their home, school, CAMHS clinic or other community venues. We also work with parents/carers to provide information, support and advice and to share risk management and we liaise with school and other services within the young person’s support network, as appropriate. We do not operate a waiting list and, if a referral is accepted, we will usually offer an assessment within a few days.
