What you can expect

Everyone who uses our services first gets an assessment of their mental health needs and a plan of the care and support they will receive. They will also will also have one named person who co-ordinates their care and support. This person will be called either a named professional or,  if your needs are more complex,  a care co-ordinator. This person should be your main point of contact.  You can speak to them about how you treatment and support are going. When you come to hospital we will make sure you are given information about your rights and that you are only in hospital for as long as you need.  When you arrive you will be given a welcome pack which will give you and your family all the information you need to know - like the visiting times and phone numbers.

Our service only accepts referrals from St Helier Hospital staff. Staff in primary care should make referrals to the appropriate community mental health service.

It is not possible to self-refer to the service.

The psychiatry team can be contacted by hospital staff on bleep at 167. Out of hours,  contact the duty psychiatrast via the St Helier switch board 0208 296 2000.
